A day in your life as a Consumer Lending Business Analyst:
Under the direction of the Division Portfolio Manager, this position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of technical solutions to support operational, compliance or product related needs within the division. The Business Analyst is responsible for system projects from the initial definition, through end user post implementation support and project evaluation. The Business Analyst will assist in designing and documenting process workflow and make recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness. The Business Analyst will serve as the system functional expert on core application(s) of the division. Additionally, the Business Analyst will assist in managing data to assist with process or policy decisions. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

Leverages functional business knowledge to maximize business unit system applications. Collaborates with key units within the Division and IMSG to achieve established strategic goals and initiatives. Works with partners to identify and maximize opportunities to use technology to improve product, service or processes. Provides key system support within the division to successfully execute product or process initiatives. Closely works with internal and external partners to successfully complete assigned initiatives while effectively managing limited resources. Analyzes system utilization within the division against the standards and best practices to identify potential process improvements. Monitors industry trends and recommends necessary technology enhancements or adjustments to achieve greater system efficiency. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to move/lift items up to 30 lbs. Must be able to arrive within various destinations statewide in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsible for business unit project and system management. Works closely with Project Management Office in managing and guiding the assigned project team. Takes assigned project from original concept through final implementation including identifying and defining functional and reporting requirement. Collaborates with PMO to ensure business unit needs/requirements are addressed and met within the project schedules, and project plans. Works with PMO to monitor milestone completion, tracks all phases of the project, provides timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinates actions and resolves conflicts. Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented according to accepted standards. Responsible for successful testing, verification and release sign-off. Ensures employees are trained on changes and that implementation schedules are met.
Ensures continuing operational quality by documenting fixes and enhancements and by working closely with internal and external service providers. Ensures proper tests are performed before accepting releases and updates. Coordinates and guides business personnel involved in testing, evaluating and validating new functions and applications, and identifies issues with key systems.
Ensures controls, procedures and compliance are within company standards. Creates, reviews and analyzes documentation of the business systems and user needs, including workflow, program functions and key system controls. Ensures compliance with State, Federal and Bank policies and regulatory requirements. Identifies & mitigates key regulatory and operational risks associated with key application system. Ensures full compliance with corporate policies & procedures. Reviews & tests key system controls. Maintains appropriate documentation & records of system control activity. Understands and implements authority limits & validations. Oversees change management activity system and business processes.
Ensures data analytics and other initiatives are executed. Develops effective reporting tools for the division. Ensures reliability & integrity of information. Tests and validates data extracts & reports. Manages professional and non-professional relationships to maximize the value of our business partners. Ensures appropriate disaster recovery priorities and testing. Ensures security of information and assets.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 6 years of business experience with 2 to 3 years of project management responsibility, preferably in the financial services industry or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated work experience utilizing business process knowledge and business interpretation skills.
Demonstrated experience understanding critical business drivers.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
Other Job Qualifications:
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized.
Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
Knowledgeable of financial practices.
Demonstrated experience developing, documenting and maintaining operational policies and procedures, including the design and documentation of detailed process flows, and the development of operational performance and quality metric standards and reports.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
